4 out of 5 stars unreal!!! (or too real?)   July 8, 2010

I'm a big Halo fan, love how the sci fi allows such a great field of places, enemies and weapons, it's multiplayer is fantastic too. So when I was given Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 I was excited, but a bit skeptical. Will a "traditional" war still keep me engaged?

We sure enough it did, the graphics are amazing and so real. The strategies i needed to use kept me thinking and addicted to achieving the stages. I really couldn't believe how much fun it was and how much i needed to think. I highly recommend this to everyone

infinity ward has once again put out a great game, cod 4 revolutionized the call of duty series. but this one brings it to the assured top. the game sold millions and it proves. the game started out great but the community brought this game down. all the guys at my school are obsessed with this. SHUT UP. its good, not amazing. i like BFBC2 better.

single player.
+story is good not amazing
+improved engine like enemy spawning
+graphics are breathtaking.
+guns, lots of em'
-only 6 hours
-i still hate the amount of grenades the enemies get.
-teammates may get in your way
-bigger focus on TF141 then Army Rangers

Special Ops (COOP)
+finally infinity ward, we want co-op
+missions are varied and fun
+big focus on teamwork and cooperation
-difficult
-infinity ward promised downloadable missions............ WHERE?!?!?!?!?!?
-end very quick

multiplayer
+more guns, perks, unlocks, game modes and fun
+maps are bigger and better.
-glitches.
-boosters
-nukes in objective games
-the community

Singleplayer 8.7
Spec Ops 9.3
Multiplayer 8.8

overall 9.1

4 out of 5 stars Playing Veteran   July 5, 2010

Playing this game on Veteran is hard. Very very hard. Unlike in the other difficulties you cannot simply charge in gunning down every one you see. Instead you have to cower behind corners waiting for your allies to show up and then you take a peek around the corner and try to shoot at least some one before they shoot you. It is pretty much multiplayer but the other team out numbers you ten to one. The checkpoints seem to be a lot farther away from each other and there are much less of them. It is a good idea not to play on veteran until have beaten the game, done some Spec-op missions, and hit Prestige at least once.

3 out of 5 stars Fun for a while...   June 29, 2010

I had a good time playing this game for a loooong time, and will probably go back to it but I just had some very major annoyances with it.

The first biggest annoyance is the amount of glitchers and cheaters. I would say 80-90% of the time I played a free for all match there would be boosters. It gets old real quick.

My other major gripe is the amount of lag I experienced in multiplayer which is what ended up making me quit playing the game. I can't really blame this totally on the game as I don't have the best internet connection, but I don't have this huge lag problem in other games I play online. There has to be some sort of a fix for this...

5 out of 5 stars A Non-FPS Perspective (Multiplayer)   June 28, 2010

I don't normally play these type of games ESPECIALLY multiplayer online, but I got a new CODMW2 XBox 360 which came with this game so I tried it out. I was curious to try my chops online and I must say, I got my chops handed to me. But I'm not a quitter and I certainly wouldn't rate the game poorly because I couldn't hack it. It inspired me even more. So this is for those like me tentatively venturing into the world of online multiplay.

The graphics are awesome and the controls are fairly easy. I love all the maps and am learning what I need for urban street fighting vs. desert cliffs etc... But seriously, be prepared to spend a lot of time in pure frustration as a 5 star level 70 slits your throat and is gone before you even know what happened. Sometimes I only know what happened by the killcam. I do wonder if the games shouldn't be better divided. So say lower levels play together and higher levels play together etc... but not so, it's a mix of everyone. The game does try to adjust slightly to give new (or bad) players a boost with say copycat or painkiller, but you earn your levels, you really do.

But there are plenty of thrills from your first killstreak resulting in your first airdrop to a wide array of unlockables and just earning your stripes and emblems. I will say this, the gamers out there are pretty cool. Haven't run into any rude players, just everyone letting their play do the talking. But once again, it is very frustrating to learn how to play (tactics) and play well but hang in there. And please, don't give the game a bad review just because you weren't up for the challenge!
