Better Recepception Much Bigger Controler August 18, 2009 Guillermo Arreola (West Covina) This is great they made the WiiMote much better... the only problem is they made it much bigger. I just bought my Wii and was a bit disappointed in the accuracy in the movement. Now i purchased this, and the WiiMote looks like a 90's universal controller. It one of those items that your screwed with it, or screw without. I recommend if you have the money buy it, if not keep your remote as it is.
Must Have August 17, 2009 Steve D (Alden, New York United States) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Purchased 1 for all four of my Wiimotes...They are very easy to connect and disconnect. It definately improves accuracy for those games that incorporate the technology. The bowling in Wii Sports Resort is a perfect example.
Loses Calibration easily... more vulnerable to wear August 12, 2009 bunnyrabbit4 (New Orleans, LA USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This device makes the remote about an inch and half longer than it was and more vulnerable to wear, especially with games like Wii Resort that often ask you to hold it with two hands. I've had the motionplus come off twice while supposedly locked to the remote.
Aside from that, what everyone is saying about it losing its accuracy when used aggressively is true. I loved sword fighting until I got to the higher levels where the opponents took longer to defeat. I had to quit playing because the remote would constantly lose calibration in the middle of a match.
It also doesn't work very well on Wii Resort Kayaking. The same paddle motion that allows you to go left one minute suddenly propels you to the right the next. This is because the remote is not correctly registering which way it is leaning. Like someone else, I bought two of these and both show the same problems. I even tried Kayak racing with two remotes and we both had the same issue. Also watch your battery levels. I found mine ran out sooner with MotionPlus.
Review August 12, 2009 Edmond Wong (ME) It's required for some of the new wii games. Not amazingly sensitive though. Will see if more supported games coming up. Not impressed by 2 new tennis games supported motionplus.
The Price of Power August 12, 2009 age (Texas, USA) 14 out of 14 found this review helpful
Okay, got one in Wii Sports Resort and bought an extra two for everyone else (eventually getting another one for the last Wii-mote). In case you were wondering, yes, it does come with the longer jacket for the wii-mote. In fact, the Wii motionplus is attached to the longer jacket and it comes with instructions on how to attach it properly. The connection on the Wii motionplus to the wii-mote feels flimsy, but it's supposed to feel that way -- it's NOT broken!
What it does is provide more information to whatever game you're playing about the position of the wii-mote. This enables you to be more in control and play games more realistically. However, very few games support it right now and it saps your batteries twice as fast, but it's generally worth it. Let's just say that if Nintendo comes out with an "improved" Wii MotionPlus in 6 months to a year, I'm going to be riotous, but not surprised.
I suggest you get Wii Charge Station Quad or Wii Charge Station or some rechargeable batteries if you haven't already because the price for power gets even higher with the Wii MotionPlus.
