5 out of 5 stars Hours and hours and HOURS of fun.   April 17, 2010

Bioshock 2 is a wonderful sequel. The singleplayer mode wasn't ruined by designers who tried to "revolutionize" the gameplay that we already thought was amazing. The graphics are hardly improved -- this is good, because the graphics of Bioshock 1 were already fantastic; this makes both games' replay values very high. As it is, I still haven't beaten the single player mode -- I'm playing my first go through on Hard mode, in attempt to get all of the single player trophies in one try.

The multiplayer is also great! There are different types of gameplay: deathmatch, team deathmatch, CTF, King of the Hill, zone capture. They created a ranking system, so that not everyone can get the best weapons and plasmids when they first start out. The games are also matched, so that games aren't all low-levels vs. all high-levels. The only issue I have with the matching, is that during a game, if people leave, you have to wait for all of the rounds to end before the teams rebalance. There is also DLC available -- masks, character asthetics, and the max level is raised to 50 from 40.

The game should keep one happy for hundreds of hours.

5 out of 5 stars Worth Every Penny   April 14, 2010

I was very hesitant about this game because more times than not, sequels do not hold up the bar set by the first. This game is an exception though not as good as the first. It has a descent story line that keeps you wondering and engrossed till the end. The game play is just as good if not better than the first and the replay value is very high. I highly recommend this game to anyone who even slightly enjoyed the first one.

P.S. The mulitiplayer aspect is actually done very well. Yet another part I was plesantly surprised with.

if ur a fan of the first game, u gotta get this one. be prepared for something different, but the same world, jus in a different time period.

5 out of 5 stars I'll keep it short and simple.   April 3, 2010

Bioshock 2 is a great game, plain and simple. Get your bathroom break done beforehand and have your munchies by your side, because you will not want to put the controller down for hours once you start playing. This coming from someone who does not usually enjoy first-person shooters, and I hadn't even played the original Bioshock before playing this one. I found Bioshock 2 to be absolutely enthralling: part Rob Zombie's "House of 1,000 Corpses" and part "The Secret Garden." A unique gaming adventure that (I've since found out) picks up very nicely where the first one left off. If you've never experienced Bioshock, I would suggest first playing the original and then sinking your teeth into Bioshock 2. That said, this game surely does not disappoint, and I would rank it right up there in the "top 5 game of the year" contenders.

4 out of 5 stars A good sequel   April 2, 2010

I'm not sure that anything could top the original but this game is a good game in it's own right. The gameplay has a number of similarities with the first one, but at the same time it is different and adds various other elements. Well worth the purchase in my opinion.
